The Angels' Village Project
At the Parish Open Forum (June 16 2026) it was decided to support the Keralan Angels' Village Project.

Angels' Village is an integrated project dedicated to:
Education
Skill training
Empowerment
Rehabilitation for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and support for their parents.
The journey began with:
1979 – Establishment of Ashanilayam Special School
1981 – Launch of Asha Home, a boarding facility for these children
Over the past five years, the project has expanded and now runs 12 additional projects, including:
An Early Intervention and Autism Centre
Special School
Boarding facilities for boys and girls
Residential care for IDD children and their parents
Vocational training units and small shops where children and parents work
Therapy services (speech, behavioral, occupational, etc.)
Training in dance, music, and art

How many people/families are cared for?
365 children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Their families, who are actively involved in our programs and benefit from our support services
Current staffing levels (including volunteers)
95 staff members, including:
Special educators
Social workers
Vocational instructors and trainers
Therapists
Nurses
Teachers (dance, music, art)
Approximately 10% of our workforce are dedicated volunteers
Funding sources
Primarily through contributions from well-wishers and donors
A small amount of government support for staff salaries
This government funding is inconsistent — some years we receive support, and some years we do not
Ways to help:
Angels' Village is currently planning to establish an Early Intervention and Therapy Centre.
Support is needed with:
Construction or sponsorship of therapy rooms
Purchasing essential therapy equipment
Educational and training materials
Support for children from extremely poor families
