Our Lady of Lourdes – Visitor Reflections
They say that first impressions count…when I arrived at Our Lady of Lourdes, Sawston, and St John Fisher, Cambourne, the warmth, commitment, and devotion of everyone was so clear!
Over the four weeks, I explored lots of the parish, enjoyed some delicious cakes, quiches, dinners, and drinks (I’m now on a long-overdue diet!).
I was honoured to join our Kerala brothers and sisters in celebration of the Onam festival and also to attend Mass in Cantonese, both firsts for me!
Onam is an ancient tradition of giving thanks for the new harvest and the end of the monsoon. There was great fun, fantastic entertainment, and delicious food!
At the Mass in Cantonese, it was moving to see so many faithful come together from miles away for the celebration of the Eucharist. I was also deeply impressed to witness Canon John’s tremendous diligence and careful preparation to make this possible.
Thank you again for your kindness, support, and prayers!
God bless,
