SECOND COLLECTIONS THIS YEAR
As you know, we contribute to a range of good causes through second collections. However, in the current circumstances this is not as easy as it used to be. Whilst there will be an opportunity to contribute to each second collection on the appropriate date, you may wish to contribute to all of the collections for the year, either by a standing order or a one-off donation. We will spread such offerings equally across the list of second collections, unless you tell us that you would like to distribute your gift differently.
The second collections are as follows: February 13 – Racial Justice March 13 – CAFOD (Lent Fast Day) Good Friday (April 15) – Holy Land Shrines May 8 – Vocations May 29 – Catholic Communications Network June 19 – Life Charities June 26 – Peter’s Pence July 10 – Apostleship of the Sea September 11 – Catholic Education Service September 18 – Home Mission October 9 – CAFOD (Harvest Fast Day) October 23 – World Mission (Missio) November 6 – CARITAS/St Edmund’s fund (Diocesan social outreach) November 20 – Diocesan Youth Service December 11 – Dependent Priests’
Fund If you donate through a Standing Order or one-off bank transfer please make sure to include “2nd coll” in the reference. If you contribute through cash or cheque in an envelope please label the envelope accordingly. Thank you for your support to these good causes.
COFFEE IN THE CHURCH HALL IN JANUARY 2022
It is very much hoped that we will be able to meet for coffee / tea in the Hall after the 11.15 am Mass on Sundays, in the New Year.
If you would be willing to help by joining a rota of volunteers happy to make the drinks, please contact Cornelia on 07775 128888.
If somebody would like to organise tea / coffee after the 8.45am Mass, please speak to Pat or Fr John.
SUNDAY COLLECTIONS / DONATIONS
For those who do not contribute by standing order, there is the Dona system in Sawston for your contribution by card. The system is very easy to use – simply select the amount you wish to donate and pay by contactless card or via your PIN. If this is the first time you have used the card you will be asked whether you wish to Gift Aid your donation; if you are a taxpayer please say “Yes” to help the Parish reclaim your tax. If you use the same card again in future you would not be asked the Gift Aid question again. If making a donation by card is impossible for you, we will accept cash or cheque. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your generosity.
